printing tips
So you’ve had your session, you’ve got your digital files, and…
…holy heck, now you need to decide what to do with them to save them sitting on a hard drive or a phone somewhere, never to be seen again.
And sure, it’s nice to post them to social media, but…
there’s nothing quite like your family being able to see their special photos in their home (or in the home of their grandparents) every day.
here are some steps to make printing a little less daunting…
Step 1 - Consider the space you have to work with
There are sooo many amazing print products that you COULD put in your home, but having a think about your own space and what will actually work for you will help to narrow down which products to choose.
Here are some questions to ask yourself:
Do you want to have your photos on display everyday or just have them somewhere in a memory box?
Is there a blank wall that you’d love to see some special memories on?
Are you in your forever home, or is the layout of your home likely to change?
Is there a space on a table/mantle that you would love to fill with some photos?
Do you have frames with older photos that you want to update?
Are you printing gifts for other people? If so, what would work best for them?
As you go through these questions, you’ll get a sense of the right type of product that will suit you (PS - there is a link below to view all of the options that I offer).
Step 2 - Consider your budget
There are hidden costs everywhere when you have a family, so when you’re printing your photos it’s important to make sure that what you’re choosing works for your budget.
I’ve put together a range of products that work for all sorts of budgets, from small traditional prints that can change over time right through to permanent framed artworks for the wall.
Step 3 - Choosing WHICH photos to print
It’s usually pretty easy to choose which photos to print for the grandparents, but what about you?
When you’re choosing photos for yourself, the most important thing is to print what makes you feel proud to see everyday. It’s not about other people - they don’t live in your house.
And if you need some help, get the family involved and ask them to help you choose! I’m sure they all have their favourite photos from your shoot.
Hopefully these tips help to make the process a little easier! And remember I’m only ever an email away if you need help 🥰
